ABOUT ABOUT

This conference (featuring in-person and virtual events) will explore writing about war and the veteran experience in today’s world. Join a group of committed writers, community members, veterans, veterans’ spouses, and more as we consider topics such as:

  • Trauma, displacement, and moral injury
  • Importance of wartime stories
  • Disparities in culture regarding the veteran experience
  • War and political divisiveness
  • Support for veterans and veteran families
  • The many ways in which writing can—and should—be used to learn about and address these challenging topics

Keynote speaker Matt Gallagher will offer his address on Friday, March 17, along with a writing workshop, on Saturday, March 18—with limited spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional events on Friday and workshops on Saturday, will also be available to all who register (these workshops will also be first-come, first-served and will close when filled).
